Open Days / Farm Tours & Visits / Events

Open Farm Sunday

We currently welcome people onto our farm once a year on Open Farm Sunday organised by LEAF (Linking The Environment and Farming).

On the day you can meet some of the animals including our sheep, lambs, cow, calves, pigs, chickens, horses & our working collies. You’ll hear all about the animals on our farm and their role in food production.

The day also includes a sheep dog demonstration & sheep shearing display, tractor trailer rides to visit the animals out in their fields & competitions.

Next year’s Open Farm Sunday will be held on Sunday 13th June 2021. This is a free event but tickets are required. You will be able to book online nearer the event.

Farm Tours

Once our on farm accommodation is up and running we aim to be able to offer our guests bespoke farm tours.

Guests will have the chance to find out what’s happening on a daily basis on the farm. They will also get an insight into how our three farms work in harmony, producing livestock naturally for food production.

Gartness Beer Festival

At Lands of Drumhead we also host the increasingly popular Gartness Beer festival, which is held on the farm every second year in October. This is a charity event showcasing local breweries and attracts beer drinkers from near and far. In recent years there has also been the welcomed addition of a wine and gin bar for ladies & non beer drinkers.

In 2019 the Beer festival raised over £10000 which was donated to MND via the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

Pop Up Cake & Coffee Hut

In recent years we’ve established a welcoming cake & coffee stop near the farm on the West Highland Way, just west of the hamlet of Gartness. (You can find the exact location on Google maps.) Offering tea, coffee, cold drinks and farmhouse baking along with picnic tables and seats to break your journey and enjoy the views of Dumgoyne, this is a great stop-off point for walkers and cyclist passing by. It’s open daily from March to October from 10am till 6pm March to October and operates as an honesty shop.

SAY CHEESE...

They come in all shapes & sizes. These three lambs are all the same age (2 days old). However clearly some of the lambs didn't grow as well as others. Its not often lambs as little as the one on the right survive, he's a wee fighter 🥊💪and is managing to feed on his own.
